I have just returned home from an amazing trip to Vanuatu in the South Pacific. Whilst many would know the Islands of Vanuatu were recently devastated by Cyclone Pam just 3 months ago, many would not realise that God is still continueing and causing his Spirit to move in that land.
I travelled to Vanuatu with Ps Graham Baker, Missions Director for the Foursquare Church Australia, Ps Phil Baker an evangelist from Texas & Ps Bruce Knowlin a good friend of mine who was associate pastor at the church we planted in Blaxland.
The presence of God was so tangible in the meetings as we worshipped and lifted the name of Jesus over the land. Whilst most of the team headed home on Friday, Bruce and I stayed for the weekend to continue with meetings and especially on Sunday morning the presence of the Holy Spirit was amazing. People were weeping during the worship and continued through to the altar call at the end.
At the meeting on Thursday evening, Phil Baker made a call for people to re-dedicate their lives to Jesus and at least half the church responded. Many people received prayer for back pain and joint pain and testified they were healed during prayer. One lady I spoke with said all pain in her stomach left as soon as she received prayer.
God is wonderful and when He shows His wonder in this way is really encouraging. During the other days I was blessed to travel to the Island of Tanna where we taught around 20 pastors from the Island. In addition I was able to travel to a number of villages to examine damaged wrought by Cyclone Pam and assess what is the best way to help those most devastated by the Cyclone.
I was truly blessed to see what God is doing and felt encouraged to know that He is at work even when often can't see it in our own cities. Just as the latter part of Jobs life was greater than the former, so shall it be with us!
God Bless
